11/10 performance by the whanau at Mitai Maori Village.

"My partner and I are both Kiwis and have learned about our indigenous heritage, however the waiata and kapahaka (performances), waka, kōrero (speech), hāngi (meal) were exceptional and provide an authentic insight into the Maori way of life. The whanau are more than happy to answer questions and they finish with a lovely walk around the fortified village in the woods nearby where you can experience glow worms. This tour will not disappoint if you are looking for a genuine Maori experience. Thank you to everybody who ran the evening, performed and contributed in some way."

Intense and immersive experience.

"The Maori have a rich and significant culture. The tribal leaders introduce us to their customs as honored guests and offer us fabulous food, based on Kuruma meat and potatoes, cooked in the Hangī. Furthermore, they present us with their traditions proudly passed down in the tribe. Finally, they show us their navigational skills, dances, games, craftsmanship and, of course, their war dance, the Haka. A moving show, surrounded by nature and full of symbols. Absolutely not to be missed!"
